CAT 740

This recently refurbished CAT740 Skip was repaired and refurbished comprising the following works:- - Replacement chassis support beams with new box profile and new cross-beams for added strength for loading, hauling and end-tipping of rock armour - New 15mm Hardox plating placed along both inside faces in 3No rows of 300mm wide strips, scotched into profile and welded up. This strengthening will provide significant resistance to the heavy wear and tear associated with the haulage of rock armour over prolonged periods and the degree of strengthening has come from many years of in-house knowledge and experience gained from these operations. - New 15mm Hardox plating profiled & welded into headboard. - New 15mm Hardox plating profiled & welded into chute with added 100mm wide x 15mm wear strips welded across chute. - Welded on bucket edging pieces for added protection at back of chute. - Misc minor gouging out and welding up of damaged sections along upper edges of both sides - Underside at back of chute also strengthened. Steelwork remedials / refurb completed on 3/2/25 - Outer faces of Skip wire-brushed, shot-blasted and painted in July 2025 - Costs of Refurbishment & repairs stand at £6k Labour + £5.5k materials = £11.5k
