Horizon Carolina is a diversified group of businesses with a common denominator of working the land. Ever since childhood, Jon Fisher has had a passion for agricultural equipment “the green ones”, and carried this passion into a horticultural degree from Clemson University. While at Clemson, Jon trained in the summers at golf courses, baseball fields and a plant nursery. After graduation Jon became a superintendant for a commerical landscaper in Atlanta. An opportunity to go through the professional management training program at a heavy machinery company in South Carolina arose and Jon was off ot the races in the construction equipment world. After 6 years of experience in over the road diesel engines and construction equipment rental, the opportunity to sell Construction & Foresty equipment enabled Jon to build the reputation of trust in the Upstate of South Carolina. Jon has worked for construction equipment dealers, a manufacturer of equipment, a big-box equipment rental company and the construction technology segment and has 25 years of experience from the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida and over to Texas. In 2020, Jon’s passion for agriculture and construction merged, and Horizon Machinery was born. Through constant pulsing of the market, Jon recognized that equipment was under utilized and the equipment owners needed a trusted partner to move the equipment. Jon began offering a concierge service to manage and facilitate repairs and marketing equipment for clients in the construction and agricultural industries. In addition, through the acquisition of several key assets, Jon opened up rentals on specialty equipment and attachments. Meanwhile, as Horizon Machinery grew, Jon was also asked to support needs in the land contracting space, and Horizon Land Contractors was created. Through his network of contractors, Horizon Land Contractors excels in environmental contracting, grading and site services. As we enter 2024, we are excited to create opportunities to grow deeper relationships in our community and provide meaningful career opportunities in the machinery and contracting business. About Us: Jon and his wife Liz operate Horizon Carolina from Kershaw County, South Carolina. Together they have six children and a growing farm full of animals. Jon has 25+ years of experience in the construction industry and his team mate Liz has an MBA from the University of South Carolina and has worked in Supply Chain for large manufacturing/distribution companies for over 20 years.
