In May 2016 the SLR McLaren was acquired by the last owner. While in their care the Mercedes-Benz was subject to extensive ongoing maintenance, with ?26,785 spent in January 2020 for a raft of works including replacement of both fuel tanks. A further ?20,083 was spent in April of that year for an engine-out service that included the replacement of all belts, fluids, and filters, and a new power steering pump, ignition coils, and an overhaul of the air conditioning system. Invoices for works carried out are available to view on file. On 24 October 2023, Mercedes-Benz de Willermin Valence replaced the engine oil, gearbox oil, brake fluid, air and cabin filters.
